Let me introduce you to one of Blue Rim’s new artists , Atalya Laufer. Atalya is an Israeli artist, who has lived in London and Berlin. A maverick with pen, oils and more recently with art installations, she took part in a one-day-only show called Menu at the Savoy Café yesterday.

This group show was held at a former East London café, that has been vacant since the mid 90s. The building is still owned by the Coltelli family, who set up business in the 50s. The décor retains its 1930s charm. Menu invites the public to order up, à la carte, a piece of artwork. You get to read, eat, play and watch table-top art installations served up with international bonbons on the side. Atalya’s offered a colouring book, filled with beautiful illustrations of the café’s interior - the viewer was to take an active role by filling its pages with colour. There soon developed an unusual one-to-one relationship between the slice of art being served and the viewer.

Soon you’ll see Atalya’s work in our e-shop. For more sneak preview info, contact us here. Watch this space…
